Northern Michigan's Mylle Competes at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Northern Michigan's Ine Mylle placed 14th in the triple jump at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday.

Mylle recorded a distance of 39-3.25 in the event, her first at a national championship meet.

Mylle was one of three Wildcats who competed at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. On Thursday, Jasmine Williams and Kameron Burmeister captured All-American accolades.

Williams improved her own school record in the weight throw to 62-8. With that effort, she finished eighth and captured a spot on the All-American first team.

Burmeister made the All-American second team after taking 11th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:12.02.

Williams and Burmeister are now two-time All-Americans. Williams took home second team All-American honors in the weight throw last season while Burmeister raced to an All-American finish at the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

Northern Michigan begins the outdoor track & field season at the Raleigh Relays on March 24-25.
