2011-12:  Lettered for the first time. Won the 400 medley relay at St. Cloud/Minnesota-Moorhead also took third in the 400 medley and 200 butterfly and fourth in the 50 and 100 butterfly events. Had four second place finishes at Grand Valley in the 400 relay, 200 medley, and the 100 and 200 butterflies. Took second in the 200 butterfly at Hillsdale. Finished fifth at the Calvin Invite in the 100 butterfly. Won the 200 breaststroke and second in the 200 medley at the UW-Oshkosh. At the GLIAC Championship finished fourth in the 400 medley, fifth in the 400 medley relay, seventh in the 100 and 200 butterfly events and eighth in the 200 freestyle relay.

Before NMU:  Lettered four times at Charles M. Russell High School under Ed McNamee. Swam the 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Received the coach’s award (2008), most improved (2009) and was team captain (2011). Individual state titles in 100 butterfly (2010), 200 freestyle (2009), 200 freestyle relay (2010) and 200 medley relay (2010). Team was state champions from 2008-2011. Swam for Falls Aquatic Swim Team under Marla Hauser and Erica Hickey. Also participated in track. Member of the National Honor Society and Key Club.

Personal:  Likes horseback riding, hunting, hiking and floating on the river. Majoring in biochemistry. Daughter of Dawn and Bob Sechena. Sister Dakota is also a member of NMU’s swimming team. Born March 14, 1993.
