2011-12:  Lettered for the third time. Named to GLIAC academic team. All-American after an eighth place in the 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Championships. Set the school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.21 at the NCAA Championships. Team captain. Named team MVP. Received the team leadership award. Member of the first place 400 medley relay team at St.Cloud/Minnesota Moorhead, where she also placed second in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke events. Finished second in both the 400 medley relay and the 100 backstroke at Grand Valley and third in the 200 backstroke. Won the 200 backstroke at Hillsdale. Placed second at the Calvin Invite in the 200 backstroke. At the GLIAC Championship, paced second in the 200 backstroke and seventh in the 100 backstroke.

2010-11:  Lettered. Received the Bob Laughna Dedication Award. Won the 200 butterfly; third-place in 200 freestyle and was on the first-place 400 medley relay squad vs. UW-Eau Claire. Won the 100 and 200 backstroke; fourth in 200 IM and was on the first-place 200 medley relay squad vs. Hillsdale. Won the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke while the 200 freestyle relay team finished second vs. UW-Oshkosh. Won the 100 backstroke; finished third in the 200 backstroke and finished 13th in the 200 freestyle at the Calvin Invite. Won the 100 and 200 backstroke; the 200 and 400 medley relay teams finished eighth; the 800 freestyle relay team finished 11th; the 400 freestyle team finished 12th at the Pointer Invite.

2009-10:  Lettered for the first time. Placed fourth (1:01.29) in the 200-yard freestyle relay at the UW-Stevens Point Invite. Was a member of the 200 medley relay, won the 200 backstroke (2:12.02) and had a seventh-place finish in the 400 freestyle (3:51.88) relay along with four other Wildcats at UW-Stevens Point. At Grand Valley State, took fourth place in the 50 freestyle (26.07) and claimed the only individual victory for NMU in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:12.86. Was a part of the tandem in the 200 freestyle relay at the GLIAC Championship. The tandem swam a 1:41.24 which was good for eighth place. Also played a part of the 400 medley relay with three other ‘Cats as they placed eighth with a time of 4:06.98. On the second day of the championships, competed in the finals of the 100 breaststroke with an eighth-place showing (59.58).The final day of the championships saw her placed sixth in the 200 backstroke (2:09.30) and was one of the ‘Cats competing in the 400 freestyle relay finishing in eighth place (3:51.41).

Before NMU:  Graduated from Green Hills High School. Swam for Casablanca San Angel Club under Ricardo Marmolejo.

Personal:  Likes dancing and watching movies. Majoring in human centered design. Daughter of Gabriela and Erique Alzaga. Born on July 21, 1990.
