Wildcats Outshoot Timberwolves but Drop GLIAC Contest

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Women's Soccer team outshot Northwood University but were unable to get one into the net as they fell to the Timberwolves 2-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action.  

  STAT LEADERS

Sophomore Caroline Halonen (Hartland, Mich.) took five shots to lead the Wildcats. Sophomore Natalie Stampfly (Stevensville, Mich.) added two shots.

Senior Jamie Montgomery (Gaithersburg, Md.), junior Isabela Cardoso (Sao Paulo, Brazil), sophomore Rachael Erste (Rockford, Mich) and freshmen Isabelle Brusilow (Grosse Point, Mich.), Evelyn Flor (Hugo, Minn.), and Gwen Kiilunen (Brighton, Mich.) each chipped in with one shot.

Junior goalkeeper Brianna Frontuto (Luxemburg, Wis.) tallied six saves.

NMU will return to action on Sunday and will host rival Michigan Technological University on the NMU Soccer Field for Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
