GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Northern Michigan University Wildcats saw three student-athletes get placed on the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Division II Academics Honor Roll while the team was named earned Academic Honor Squad status.
Senior Tori Aidif (Grandville, Mich.) appeared in 32 games over her career and was team captain her senior season. She graduated this past spring.
Senior Megan Palacio (Cumberland, R.I.) appeared in 40 games over her career and appeared in 10 her senior season despite missing games due to injury and graduate school obligations.
Junior Angelica Bogden (Clarkston, Mich.) has made 46 appearances and finished this past year with five goals and four assists. She added 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers this season.
As a team, the Wildcats reached their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament in program history as well as collected their first GLIAC road victory. The team's 24-6 victory over Ashland University was also the most goals scored in a game and also the largest margin of victory for the young program.
The IWLCA honored 260 student-athletes from 57 different institutions on the 2019 IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
To qualify for the Academic Honor Squad, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
