Wildcat Lacrosse Wraps Up Inaugural Season Against Lake Erie

MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan lacrosse team wrapped up its inaugural season against Lake Erie Sunday afternoon at the Superior Dome.

After Savannah Stich opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game, the Storm netted nine of the next 10 goals to build a 9-2 advantage by the 11:22 mark. At halftime, Lake Erie held an 11-3 lead.

The Storm outscored the Wildcats, 9-1, in the second half to earn its 20-4 victory.

Shelby Klotz netted two of Northern Michigan's goals. She finished the campaign with a team-best 29. Graison Ringlever also found the back of the net; she was second among Wildcats with 24 on the season.

Brianna Bangle stopped 11 shots, reaching the 10-save plateau for the eighth-straight game. Overall, she made at least 10 saves in 11 of Northern Michigan's 15 games.

Taylor Mathis paced Lake Erie with six goals. Anna Spin (3g-2a), Anastasia Crawford (3g) and Cecilia Spin (3g) also had multi-goal outings.

Before the game, the Wildcats honored seniors Savannah Stich and Lindsey Luyckx. Both were members of Northern Michigan's club team before making the transition to the first Division II squad.
