  LAST TIME OUT

The Wildcats scored a season-high 71 points behind a season-best nine three-pointers to defeat MSU-Mankato 71-51 on Friday afternoon.  They followed it by defeating MSU-Moorhead 61-54 Sunday afternoon, shooting 47% from the field for their best team shooting performance of the season.

  MAKING SHOTS

Junior Jessica Schultz (Mineral Point, Wis.) is currently fourth in the GLIAC in shooting percentage, making 55.6% of her attempts this season. Schultz is 19-34 from the field so far, and is also 6-14 from behind the arc.  She is shooting 83% from the free throw line, making 10-12.  As a team, NMU is second in the GLIAC from the free throw line, shooting 81.1% from the charity stripe which is 12th in the country.

  MAKING IT HARD FOR THEM

The Wildcats are allowing just 54.6 points per game this season, which is 37th best in the country and the fewest allowed in the GLIAC.  Defensively they are second in the league in allowing opponents to shoot just 35.5% from the field and 30.6 from the field. They also do not allow easy chances as they commit just 13.6 fouls a game, the fewest in the conference and the ninth fewest in all Division II.

  LEADING SCORERS

Two players average double-figures while another is just shy of that mark. Sophomore Lexi Smith (St. Germain, Wis.) paces the team with 11.6 points, including a season-high 24 points. Schultz is averaging 10.8 per game.  Senior Darby Youngstrom (Cook, Minn.) is currently averaging 9.6 points.

  NMU VERSUS CSP

The all-time series with the Golden Bears is tied at 4-4 after NMU collected a 56-49 victory in St. Paul last season. Concordia St-Paul enters the weekend at 2-1 on the year and have won their past two games, defeating Washburn 61-59 and Division III foe Wisconsin Superior 95-58.

  NMU VERSUS JAMESTOWN

This will be the first ever matchup between the two teams.  The Jimmies  are an NAIA opponent and enter the weekend at 5-3 on the season, but dropped their last two contests.  Their last two opponents were ranked #1 and #2 in NAIA.
