MIDLAND, Mich. — The Northern Michigan men's soccer team fell to Northwood, 3-0, Sunday afternoon.
Sveinn Karlsson had an opportunity to put the Wildcats up on the board but was denied by Brendan Brown in the seventh minute of the match.
Northwood opened the scoring 16 minutes into the first half when Bryan Lawson gained posession of the ball and buried it into the right side of the net.
The Timberwolves were up, 1-0 at the end of the first.
Two minutes into the second half, the Timberwolves brought their lead to 2-0 when Brady Cole was fed the ball by Lawson and one-timed it in. Four minutes later, Lawson found the back of the net with an unassisted goal, bringing Northwood to 3-0.
Karlsson finished as the team leader in goals (4), assists (5) and points (13).
Filippo Torelli finished the season with 60 saves.
Northern Michigan finishes its inaugural season with a record of 5-10-2.
