MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan men's basketball team fell in its home opener to Minnesota State-Moorhead, 104-68, Friday night at the Berry Events Center.
Isaiah Johnson led the Wildcats with 25 points. Johnson also collected a team-best 15 boards and was 100 percent in free-throw percentage.
Minnesota State-Moorhead built a 13-4 lead three minutes into the first half, but Northern Michigan answered back with three 3-pointers in a row tieing the game at 13-13.
The Dragons continued to build their lead, ending the match with a 51.7 percentage in 3-pointers.
Northern Michigan led the Dragons in fastbreak points, 10-4. Naba Echols also reached the double digits in points, recording 13.
Five Dragons reached the double digits in points led by Ayob Ayob, who posted 24. Aaron Lien was next with 23.
The Wildcats return to action at the Berry Events Center tomorrow, facing off against Southwest Minnesota St at 3 p.m.
