Directions to the NMU Sports Complex

From U.S. 41/M-28, arriving from south and downtown:

  • Proceed north on Front Street
  • Front Street terminates at Fair Avenue. At that T-intersection, turn left and go one block. Then right into the NMU Sports Complex parking lots.
  • The Berry Events Center is the first building you will see (to your right as you’re coming into the parking lot).  It has a large glass front wall.
  • The Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF) is immediately north and is the middle building of the complex, connecting the Berry Events Center and the Superior Dome. From the Fair Avenue entrance, it appears to be a square building. 
  • Superior Dome is the northern-situated building of the complex. The dome is a 14-story high building with a massive gray-white roof that is easy to spot from any location near the complex.

From Washington Street (Ramada Inn or Holiday Inn):

  • Proceed east on Washington Street toward the downtown area.
  • Turn left onto Third Street and proceed north to Fair Avenue.  Third Street terminates into a T-intersection at Fair Avenue. 
  • Cross Fair Avenue and enter the parking area of the NMU Sports Complex.
  • The Berry Events Center is the first building you will see (to your right as you’re coming into the parking lot).  It has a large glass front wall.

From U.S. 41/M-28, arriving from west:

  • On proceeding through the stoplight at the Wal Mart entrance (on the right side of the road), prepare to turn left onto Wright Street.  Follow Wright Street to Presque Isle Avenue, which will be the second stoplight.
  • Cross Presque Isle Avenue and proceed east (200 feet). Turn right onto the Superior Dome entry drive.
  • Superior Dome will be immediately in front of you. The dome is a 14-story high building with a massive gray-white roof that is easy to spot from any location near the complex.
  • The Physical Education Instructional Facility (PEIF) is the middle building of the complex, connecting the Superior Dome and Berry Events Center. It appears to be a square-ish brick building.
  • The Berry Events Center is the last building that you will see entering the complex from this direction.  It has a large glass front wall.

From Marquette Sawyer International Airport:

  • Exit airport terminal to County Road 553. Turn right and proceed north to Marquette.  (Follow the directional signs for Marquette that are posted along the airport’s exit road.)
  • Turn right onto U.S. 41/M-28 by-pass, which will be the first stoplight.  Follow for about one mile until the by-pass forces you to ease onto U.S. 41/M-28.  You will want to go north (left), heading for the downtown area.  This is also the Front Street exit.
  • Proceed north on Front Street. Front Street terminates at Fair Avenue. At that T-intersection, turn left and go one block. Then right into the NMU Sports Complex parking lots.
