Tom Izzo

Basketball 1973-77
Northern Michigan Hall of Fame Class: 1990

- Head coach of the Michigan State Spartans (1995-present)
- 2000 NCAA National Champions
- Six NCAA Final Four Apperances
- Four-time National Head Coach of the Year
- 2016 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class
- Captained the 1976-77 Northern Michigan Team
- Served as a Northern Michigan assistant coach from 1979-83

Steve Mariucci

Football 1974-77
Northern Michigan Hall of Fame Class: 1988

- Current NFL Network Analyst
- Coached in the NFL for nine seasons, leading the San Fransico 49ers and Detroit Lions.
- Quarterback of the 1975 NCAA National Championship team
- AP All-American in 1976 and 1977
- Northern Michigan's MVP in 1975, 1976 and 1977

Caitlin Gregg (Compton)

Cross Country and Skiing 1999-2002
Northern Michigan Hall of Fame Class: 2013

- Current member of the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team
- One of the first American women to medal at the World Championship, capturing 10K freestyle bronze in 2015
- A four-time All-American in cross country and 2002 All-American in skiing
- Became the first Wildcat to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championship as a freshman

Dallas Drake

Hockey 1988-92
Northern Michigan Hall of Fame Class: 2002

- Member of the 1991 NCAA National Champion Wildcat team
- Netted the game-winning goal in the NCAA tournament semifinal game
- Named to 1992 all-WCHA first team after leading the league in goal scoring
- Played 16 seasons in the NHL for Detroit, Winnipeg, Phoenix and St. Louis
- Member of the 2008 Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings
- Currently a coach in the Grand Traverse Hockey Association
